Doberman Pinscher Dog Breed Blip
In
an effort to create the perfect working dog, it is thought that German breeder
Louis Dobermann combined the best qualities of
German
Pinscher, Rottweiler dogs,
Manchester Terrier and the
Greyhound to
create the
Doberman Pinscher dog breed.
First accepted for registration by the German Kennel Club in 1900, the popular Doberman Pinscher breed was imported to North America in 1908, and has since become internationally renowned as a security dog, Dobermans do extremely well in obedience work.
Doberman Pinschers are intelligent, loyal, affectionate dogs that make wonderful family pets.
Of medium build and height, the Dobermans' sleek, short coat comes in black, red, blue or fawn, all with rust markings.
Grooming requirements are minimal (ears are often cropped, but may also be left natural).
Doberman Pinschers require plenty of exercise to keep their sleek appearance, and do well in either rural or urban settings, provided that regular walks are offered.
Early and consistent obedience training is essential.
Common misspellings for Doberman Pinscher: Doberman Pincher, Doberman Pincer
