The Dorkie is a small designer dog. This popular mixed breed pooch is the result of pairing a Yorkie with a Miniature Dachshund. They are also referred to as Doxie Yorkies, Dorkie Terriers, and Yorkshire Weenies.
Dorkies can take after either side of the family. They can be feisty and tenacious like their Yorkshire Terrier relatives, or more laid back, full of devotion and somewhat clown-like, in keeping with the Weiner dog side of the family.
Dorkies are certain to be small, extremely cute, charming and very unique. Their mixed breed status can make them extra-healthy (although this is never a certainty with any designer dog breed).
